Rio de Janeiro, commonly referred to simply as Rio,[1] is the capital city of the State of Rio de Janeiro, the second largest city of Brazil, and the third largest metropolitan area and agglomeration in South America, boasting approximately 6.3 million people within the city proper,[2][3] making it the 6th largest in the Americas, and 26th in the world.[4] Rio de Janeiro has become a home of a World Heritage Site named "Rio de Janeiro: Carioca Landscapes between the Mountain and the Sea," as granted by UNESCO on 1 July 2012 in the category Cultural Landscape. The decision was taken by the committee of the assets of the organization. The announcement came during a meeting in St. Petersburg, Russia.[5]

Rio de Janeiro looks fairly primitive Like Havana, the vehicles are mainly from the 60s and 70s.
Police[]
The Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro has a fleet of GAZ Volgas painted in a black and gray livery that patrol the streets of Rio with a single blue strobe and a warped police siren.
Trivia[]
The Police in Rio have a second generation of GAZ volgas available which is strange since the GAZ volga is a vehicle that originated in Russia during the 70s.
